Catherine K S' style is described as alternative mellifluence and
gorgeous arrangements to satisfy lovers of original alternative
indie/folk pop - think Belle & Sebastian, REM, Joni Mitchell
influences. She was voted "Favourite Solo Artist" at the Brighton Music
Awards 2003, done entirely by public vote. To date she has also been
given one of the highest ever scores by the panel of music industry
experts for her demo played on BBC Southern Counties Radio, South Live
on 12 December 2004. She then went on to play a live session and
interview with BBC Southern Counties on 10 April 2005.
Whenever anyone writes anything about her, it always seems to include
the term "quirky". Quirky is different, and different has to be a good
thing these days, so might as well love the term! Catherine K S is a
musical breath of fresh air for those who are suffocating in a world
dominated by ubiquitous, insipid and nauseating media-factory
manufactured pop. To find out more about Catherine and listen to some her songs, visit www.catherineks.com |

Chanctonbury Ring Morris Men are an all-male side based in central
Sussex. We were formed in Shoreham in 1953 and were elected to the
Morris Ring in 1955 - one of our founder members is still actively
involved with the side! We dance mainly Cotswold, but we also have a
strong North West side, with most men dancing both styles. Most of our
dancing is done in pub gardens and car parks in the country towns and
villages up to about 15 miles from Brighton, although we have been
known to venture much further afield in search of a good pub! Our
regular dancing night is Wednesday, but our programme includes the odd
weekend event and a number of 'away' events, both in the UK and
overseas. For more information about the side see

The Community Band was formed in November 2003. Under the direction of
music teacher Linda Cole the band grew from an initial membership of 9
to the current 25. Now under the musical direction of Adam Kempshall
the band continues to flourish and is often to be seen performing out
and about in the local community.
The band has performed in the Adur Festival - at the Lancing Launch and
as part of the Boundstone events - at other events and locations and
are receiving a growing number of invitations to perform at private
engagements.
Boundstone Community Band has now become another piece of the
Boundstone Performing Arts jigsaw, allowing musicians to continue with
an outlet when they leave the college and encourage older players
returning to performing. |
