If you have been in the High
Street to Jeremys, you may have wondered who painted the lovely
chillies. Or gone into Taste and wondered who painted the
Seascapes. Karen has also sold and exhibited works worldwide
and is currently involved in a book for Greenpeace.

Sue thinks of her work as a type
of visual diary. She
sees the whole
world and whatever is, or has been in it, as inspirational. She is very aware of how
our own personal
experiences shape what we see and the way we see it. Currently
painting and
printmaking Sue will be exhibiting in Surrey and Sussex
over the coming months. She
currently has work at www.haitiartfund.com
and is due to have
a photograph published in the 2010 Paws for Charity Art Book; this year
raising
money for Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.

The
last few years Chris has been doing green woodworking,
producing a variety of items including jewellery, rustic furniture and
sculpture. His involvement with wood craft lead
to an interest in blacksmithing. Three years studying then followed and now with his
own forge he can start to produce a range of products.
He has a portable forge
and happily
demonstrates the craft at shows.
He draws influences for his work from nature – its
wonderful forms and shapes. When
these
shapes are translated into a piece made from metal or wood, the result
can be
something very pleasing.

Piers
has always preferred the practical side of things and has made 'things'
for as long as he can remember (birthday cards/presents, furniture,
tree houses etc.). He is also a salvager and hoarder of anything that
he thinks might one day be useful, and has just started to work with
all the driftwood collected over the years, which will be ready for the
Festival weekend.

Chris has
been painting ceramics for about 26 years, creating glazed ceramics
using a paint which is onglaze enamel, originally in powder form which
she then mixes with oil. She paints loosely in impressionistic style
full of movement and colour, focusing on wildlife but her favourite
subject is flowers, which she studies in her garden in North Wales
where she also has her studio, a traditional Shepherd's Hut.

Introduced
to watercolours during a painting holiday in Spain only four years ago,
Lindsey loves using watercolours,
pen and wash and lots of wet in wet techniques. Her love
of vibrant colours and textiles evolved further when she began to
use her shoe paintings as prints on fabric. A collection of designs
grew to
become the Posh Bags for Posh Shoes range. Lindsey is keen
to ensure that her products are sourced
and produced both ethically and locally.

Keith's work embraces both photography and painting. He is influenced
by the different light he has experienced in his travels, from the
astounding colours in deserts of North America to the vast open skies
of East Anglia. Whilst visiting the Pueblo Indians in New Mexico Keith
was greatly inspired by the works of O'Keefe and his recent work
reflects her images in both paintings and photographs. Original
and prints of oil paintings, water colour drawings and greeting cards
of local water colour scenes, will all be for sale.

Wendy
works with beautiful fabrics, by designers such as Cath Kidston and
Laura Ashley to create bags of all shapes and sizes, from little
kiddies bags to large shopper/beach bags. She uses a variety
of fabrics, for example oilcloth (PVC) and pure cotton/linen.
The designs are Wendy's own and no two bags are identical.
Having recently taken early retirement from the "rat race" she is now
able to enjoy the luxury of being able to devote her time to the crafts
she loves.

An
interest in botany led Anne to study with the R.H.S. and set up a rare
plant nursery and she happily combined her two interests in 1998 when
she took up botanical painting. Her first exhibition a few months later
at the R.H.S. Headquarters in London was
awarded a silver gilt Grenfell medal. Anne
has also exhibited with the Society of Botanical Artists, Westminster
Hall London, Hever
Castle,
Wakehurst
Place, Arundle Castle, Michelham Priory,
Pashley Manor, and many other venues in Kent and Sussex.
She is a regular exhibitor in the Brighton Festival, where she was for
many years the secretary of the prestigious Fiveways Artists Group, she
occasionally gives workshops, talks and demonstrations to Art clubs and
societies.

Jan
has been working as an artist for the last 30 years. Her paintings are
all
watercolours. In 2000 Jan exhibited 'Purple Flower' at The Royal
Watercolour
Society, London. Since then she has shown her work in various galleries
and
exhibitions throughout the south of England. Colour atmosphere is
probably the most significant challenge with the environments she tries
to
evoke. Travelling, landscape, plants and architecture are great
inspirations
for her. Recent work has been influenced by the light in the
mediterranean,
especially Turkey, Morrocco and Egypt. Other influences are the Downs
and the
Sussex coast near Rottingdean where she lives.
