Henfield Art Club

'Boat Yard - Emsworth' by Mary Hooper
Best in Show, Autumn Exhibition

The club was founded in 1982 to provide a forum for artists of all abilities and levels of interest, from those actively painting and working in other media to those who just enjoy attending the lectures and social events.

We meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month (except August) in the garden Room of the Henfield Hall at 7.30 pm, guests welcome, for a varied instructive and entertaining programme of lectures, workshops and demonstrations. In addition, occasional visits are organised to to galleries etc.

During the summer months members have the opportunity to go 'painting-out' as a group. Depending on the weather, this is an opportunity to draw and paint, by arrangement with the owners, at beautiful locations in the neighbourhood.

Winter time brings us indoors on alternate Wednesday afternoons in the Garden Room of the Henfield Hall when members meet to draw and paint, sharing ideas and skills in a friendly atmosphere.

The main event of the year is the October Annual Exhibition of Art, which is the showcase for the Club's talent and provides an opportunity for non-members to purchase genuine works of art.

Subscription rates are very modest : £18 per year payable in January (members joining at other times are charged pro-rata). A phone call to one of the club officials listed below will bring you an invitiation to come and join us for a meeting to see how interesting are our meetings and how welcoming we are.
